This amazing robot has 10 motors, giving it a high level of movement and animation. The controls are also very easy to use, using a touch pad (a la ipod), in addition to the standard two stick remote.
WALL·E is voice activated, and can detect and follow (like “here wall-e, heere wall-e, whistle, etc.”) the sound of a human voice, and recognize when someone has entered the room. He also has several emotional states with many different sensors that enable him to detect and respond to his environment. Infared sensors allow him to avoid objects when making his way across the room, sonic sensors can detect the direction from which sound is coming, along with touch sensors. He is also MP3 compatible and can play music.
Rechargeable batteries are included, along with all the cables. The Ultimate WALL·E was supposed to have a retail price of US$189.99 It’s very cool, in fact so cool that it is suffering from the “tickle-me-elmo” effect and prices on Amazon are now (11/30/08) up to$459.99
